i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.

This way of understanding the reality the USA is facing is wrong in so many levels. You are not fighting authoritarism. You are fighting (or should be) fighting fascism in the way of White Christian Nationalism. Authoritarism is only one of its characteristics.

you should give a read to a few papers on right wing authoritarism (RWA) and the authoritarian personalities, it's a part of sociology that analyzes (in part) the want to figbt a smaller other even at our detriment
