In an autocracy vs democracy election, this kind of partisanship is so short-sighted and counter-productive.

Stay engaged, now more than ever. Vote.

We can learn from Hungary, Brazil, and Serbia — like them, we have on our hands a Democracy vs Autocracy election. The rest is for another day.

Absolutely. (Especially when the differences aren’t like Obama vs Romney or McCain, but democracy vs autocracy)

Everyone in Poland, and everywhere else for that matter, needs to get off of "X". It's Elon's platform to push fascism and autocracy globally.

few people understand how Washington repudiated his Farewell Address by splashing his own face with acid, putting on a black mask, and calling himself "Darth Cherry Tree" as he remade the newborn United States into an autocracy, GW's words be damned
I hear you, and I understand that you might say that, and it is dumb, but I would like to present something even dumber:

Thank you world for recognising how autocracy cheats and steals, resisting it everywhere, and giving the majority of Americans grace.

Every news organization in the U.S. should have as their top story from now through Tuesday some (probably more gently worded) variation of “Huge Stakes as Voters Choose Whether to Enable Trump or Rein Him In: Have They Had Enough of Autocracy, Corruption, and Chaos or Do They Want More?”

For our security and prosperity in Europe we must hope there’s a blue tidal wave in the US mid-terms today. These are the most important American elections in a generation. If our most important ally is not going to slide into autocracy the awful, Trump-enabling Republicans must be soundly defeated.

Yes, Egypt is an autocracy w/ a U.S.-puppet leader.
While people accuse Abdul El-Sayed of ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, let’s remember what happened in Egypt.

Egyptians democratically elected Mohamed Morsi in 2012.

We didn’t like the result. We helped the military regain power in 2013.

Egypt is now an autocracy.

2024 crushed my soul and has made me never, ever again underestimate how many Americans willingly desire criminal autocracy/fascism or choose to not participate.

Yes that’s how autocracy works

I wish all my American friends that tonight starts a return back towards normalcy, decency, and freedom from autocracy.

Thanks for all the likes and reposts -- it's good to see that there is such an appetite for silly literary jokes. Next week some zingers about silver-fork fiction, but in the meantime, if you are voting against autocracy today, good luck to you.

On a 10-point scale, how close are we to autocracy? More than a 4, that’s for sure.

There are ways of institutionalizing autocracy.
