#autocue
This is weird.
Nearly an hour
of expert chat
about a great film,
but without a single clip from it.
That's because it's a r a d i o programme,
with cameras pointing at it.
What next? Make-up & hair-do's for the guests?
Autocue for Misha?

This Morning celebrates its tenth birthday today in 1998 (a day early but it was a Friday so it's acceptable) and within seconds Richard and Judy are complaining about the special intro, camera placements and autocue. www.youtube.com/watc...

Straight from the autocue, same as everyone else.
I don't think he'll deliver on either PR or rejoining tbh. Too costly & disruptive, & not just in financial terms.

Make a tv autocue reader secretary of defence (war) what an enough do you expect

The autocue read:

"97 cars under construction"

People present in Liverpool said he broke down when he saw his deceased father come up on the autocue.…..

Quite. It will be a bit depressing if we end up voting for people based on how well they read the autocue.
Or the person least embarrassing on Tik Tok…

All modern political speeches come across as very stilted. There were multiple times I thought his autocue must have broken. Some great policy announcements, wish they'd just get on with them in the next 3 years and make them politically irreversible. That's what the Tories would do

I was a Labour Party member and activist for 37 years and left in 2020. I watched Burnham's speech and genuinely welled up and felt hope. also, the fact it wasn't a lectern/podium autocue effort was so positive.

He had an autocue, and the operator halted the words when the passage about his dad was coming up. Halted it for a long time.

But it was a good speech, well delivered.

No autocue either ? They were suggesting that this morning

I'm also impressed that Andy Burnham is so experienced a rhetorician that he's able to deliver a 45-minute speech without notes or autocue, ad-libbing where necessary but sticking to his script, in the manner of Demosthenes or Cicero. Unlike Trump, who waffles for hours spouting lies and nonsense.

My only note in that tradition was when Ed Miliband gave a leader's speech without an autocue and forgot to do a whole section on the economy. I hope Andy remembered it all

The Pittsburgh Steelers asked an Englishman to sing the American national anthem. Bruce Dickinson did it a cappella, no autocue, having never sung it before in his life. He held "free" for six seconds.

I was looking for something witty to say about your debut, Ian.
But fair play, you did well, you just need a better autocue, me thinks. Nice record choices.

I think you'd love one of my albums of 2026 too.

I see Radio 2 have yet again appointed a presenter with years of experience in broadcast radio who worked their way up the hard way rather than reading an autocue on TV with the qualification of being "young and good looking".
