Funny thing about autoritarianism is that the people who support it come from the idea that:
"I'm so disappointed by all these politicians who just think of themselves, their power and face no consecuences. To fix this we should make the next one permanent."

Funny thing about autoritarianism is that the people who support it come from the idea that:

What's going to happen next is that a lot of people (starting with the genuine freaks like Yarvin, Vermule, very like Dreher) will start talking about how competitive autoritarianism wasn't tough enough and only full fat authoritarianism will do.
A managed democracy where all politics takes place within tight constraints, and the organs of state and media are stacked with compliant placemen. Meaning that the full agenda of the political realm is restricted to offscreen agreements and crackdowns upon despised opposition and minority groups.

The far right by definition is about conservatism and autoritarianism (i.e. telling other people what they can and cannot do), so I think you will find they are "not on the same side". They have just chosen to pick on this group of people for now but will then move on to other vulnerable groups.

Dear American majority, that moment was months ago. How can you not see that? Did you never learn about the concept of autoritarianism? How come you don't recognize the clear signs and red flags? This is a textbook descent into actual fascism and everybody who doesn't resist is enabling it now.
