That CodeCatalyst exists confused me because I thought AWS was exiting dev tooling.

AWS killing off zombie services like CodeStar and Cloud9 is actually good. Keeping dead products alive costs more credibility than shutting them down. Nobody's asking about FinSpace anyway, they want EC2, S3, IAM.

Researchers from Aqua report AWS vulnerabilities
Critical security vulnerabilities were discovered across six AWS services due to a new attack vector called "Shadow Resources," where attackers exploited automatically generated assets like S3 buckets. These vulnerabilities, affecting CloudFormation, Glue, EMR, SageMaker, ServiceCatalog, and CodeStar, enabled various attacks, such as remote code execution, data interception, and denial of service. AWS patched the issues and implemented preventive measures, but the underlying risks of "Shadow Resources" remain a concern for users, who are advised to use trusted buckets, verify ownership, and avoid predictable bucket names.
