I wouldn't trust Andy Burnham to unite 2 ends of a shoe lace, let alone take on the CORRUPT, CORPORATE, PRIVATISED PROFITEERING PATSIES in his cabinet and the Labour backbench
"we all know how this is going to turn out"

@zackpolanski.bsky.social on the [good] things that Andy Burnham is saying.

So maybe rather than "governing from the backbench" specific minor parties need to be in a formal coalition with the largest party. It requires collaboration, compromise and negotiation between parties, which are not qualities traditionally encouraged in the adversarial Australian system...

"If you vote Lab you just get another backbench MP who will vote with the govt.. if you vote Green the worst case scenario is you.. get the Lab MP you might have got anyway, but the best case.. is you get an ind Green MP.. who can push Burnham.."

The JLC is stuffed to the brim with RACISTS, ISLAMAPHOBES and hatred of PALESTINIAN MUSLIMS

Many of their members donated MILLIONS of £££s to Keir Starmer, the current cabinet and most of the new backbench Labour MPs
The Jewish Leadership Council wants us to see Afghan, Palestinian refugees as extremists, antisemites in a glaringly Islamophobic post criticised by Baroness Meral & and a growing chorus of voices calling out their racism. Yet the same JLC supports Ukrainian refugees, which only exposes the racism.

Atlanta Hawks = men's professional basketball.

Iowa Hawkeyes = Women's College basketball.

Hard to emphasize how monumentally dumb republicans
and the staff that presented this.

Backbench, trustfunded boneheads.

Backbench Revolt is a particularly painful hold.

Signing up to "controlling immigration" before an election isn't the same as signing up to a Reform policy after, as many, if not most backbench MPs are realising.
Manifesto policy and implementation are not the same thing.
As every previous government has fund.

oh I forgot it was backbench FMQs literally right now, let’s see how right I was
September 29, 2026 at 1:36 PM
the one that bugs me most is backbench FMQs where one message will be “FMQs is starting now, follow along as backbench MSPs put their questions to the FM!” and the next message will be “and that concludes FMQs”

Burnham: 'And please comrades when I announce further shafting of the old, kids, immigrants, poor, disabled just don't tutt or raise eyebrows in front of the cameras.'

Backbench lefties in unison: 'Can we shout wanker?'

If his "hands are tied" as people claim by the manifesto, grow a pair and call an election, if you don't want to loose the 400 seat of MPs (and face a backbench revolt), break the manifesto and make the political argument for doing it. But do something yourself.
September 29, 2026 at 8:59 AM
Too late for that. Labour began as the backbench fever dream of a clapped out three term Tory govt and got worse from there. Powertripping egomaniacs, transphobic, racist, wheelchair kicking, corrupt and on the make, poodles of America, clueless, genocidal, anti European etc etc.

Gonna be honest- my one regular client hasn't had work for me since March, which is where freelancing really shows itself as- "Also have a solid backbench project you can do and get pay off in case nothing shows up."

This is a really good article 🔽

I always though 'EU reform' meant what Vicky Ford was doing for the single market for services

However, no.
It seems to have meant Cameron's cowardice in refusing to confront the Tory backbench crazies and restrict citizens rights.
