A cast member of Verdi's opera Il Trovatore unfurled a Palestinian flag on stage at London's Royal Opera House, despite attempts from someone backstage to take it away.
A spokesperson for the Royal Ballet and Opera called it a “wholly inappropriate act.”

Maybe unpopular opinion: 98% of the outrage about Timothee Chalamet saying ballet and opera aren’t popular came from people who will never for the rest of their lives ever go to the ballet or the opera.
It's weird how there's been a backlash against "slop" without a corresponding revival in high culture. I see approximately 60,000 posts bemoaning "slop" for every post about opera or ballet or literature above the YA level.
