Defending him is the job of a barrister who shouldn't be castigated for doing it. But the fact that "in his closing speech on Monday, the barrister [Ian Winter KC] also questioned why Brand’s accusers had not screamed, kicked out or slapped Brand when they were raped" is something else entirely

Before anybody leaps in: This followed on from a discussion over whether Brand 1) instructed his barrister to use a terrible defence or 2) his barrister did so on his own initiative or 3) his barrister hated his client and was not doing his best work. I think we can discount 3 now.

I'm sorry, but at this point we *know* the reasons so few victims are able to report SA immediately (if ever).
Any barrister who is performatively ignorant on this issue should be disbarred. There is no way this is a justifiable defence.

This was his entire defense. His lawyer badgered one of the victims for not being able to identify which toilet stall Brand assaulted her in.

Winter has been horrendous throughout the trial. And it still remains a very odd thing that a barrister with basically no trial experience in this kind of case was chosen to do it.
