@benpartridge on x ust ordered in a restaurant in Bulgaria and the waiter looked at me with real real gravity and said "sir, you must know that this doesn't come with any sort of potato". I've never felt truly seen and supported like that before.'

This is so unnecessary
Benjamin Partridge @benpartridge Imagine giving up a couple of hours to be interviewed by the Guardian, and then buying the paper to see that they've opened with this. The actor Ray Winstone, who is best known for his depictions of men muddled in criminality, has a torso so large and legs so thin that seeing him enter the breakfast lounge of a London hotel is like watching a barrel walk in on stilts. Winstone is 67

Screenshot of a post from Twitter account @benpartridge. Text reads "Just ordered in a restaurant in Bulgaria and the waiter looked at me with real gravity and said "sir, you must know that this doesn't come with any sort of potato". I've never felt truly seen and supported like that before. Weeping." Screenshot from Tumblr; user reallyreallyreallytrying posts "my buddy knows george rr martin and the reason he hasn't finished the book is he's forgotten how to spell "incest" (keeps writing insect). he's furious with himself. keeps cutting his little hat with scissors" Text post from Twitter user @tomfordblues, below a screencap image from TV show The X-Files, showing Scully and Mulder across an interview table from the viewer. Mulder is curled up in the chair with his knees draped over the edge of the table. Text post reads: "my mom refuses to watch the x files because david duchovny was her ta for a class and he apparently "lounged about in a whorish manner"" Screenshot from Wikipedia on the English dub version of Hayao Miyazaki's film My Neighbor Totoro "When dubbing the English version of My Neighbor Totoro, the film's executives originally planned on changing Totoro's name to one considered more American. Several new titles were considered, including My Neighbor Craig, My Neighbor Kyle, My Neighbor Joe Toro (Totoro's first name would be Joe and his last name would be Toro - it would also be implied that he was from Cleveland), and My Neighbor Uncle Sam. Eventually director Hayao Miyazaki kept the name Totoro. "I could not name him Craig," said Miyazaki. "Because I would not want to be named Craig."" Below this text is a famous screencap from the movie showing Totoro and the young girl Satsuki standing side by side in the rain, each holding an umbrella.

Today I learned a lot about what folks in the UK call ice cream novelties (thanks @benpartridge) and I feel like international powers need to step in to regulate this absolute chaos.

@benpartridge Superb work as ever operating the Sir Cliff mannequin, but the eyes definitely need some renovation work.

“Hi Cliff, so this is the kind of thing you could say. We're just looking for a natural relaxed video of [ARTIST] at home introducing your fans to [PRODUCT]. Oh, and, small point: nothing that looks at all weird or eldritch or uncanny-valley or outright horrifying. Speak soon”
