Car hits pedestrian: pedestrian injured (or worse), driver not injured. Bicycle hits pedestrian: pedestrian injured, cyclist also injured. Aligned with pedestrians is the correct way to see it! (Used to be a motorcyclist, ride bicycles a lot now, and the rule has always been car vs bike - car wins.)
