They're using brain organoids for biocomputing. Our brains have amazing compute efficiency, decent error checking on complex processes, and are really good at complex heuristics (intuition).

Alright... I'm done.

This can't be legal.

OBVIOUSLY it's immoral, but morality and legality have never been truly one in the same.

If anyone needs me, I will be trying to decide if I should free or destroy the literal slave-brain.

Anyway in not horrifying news, way back when I was with the med school a lot of my research in tissue development involved organoids which are 3D structures of cells grown into various tissues, the brain tissue kind of course actually being what's now used for biocomputing.

When I started drafting notes for a chapter in Carrion Bloom about my funny fungus people being used as bio-processors in that story's data centers, I wasn't expecting this to functionally be real already.

What the fuck.

Literally trying to draft a new story idea on this premise right now and it is HARD to be a scifi author these days when everything you write is SURPRISINGLY CONTEMPORARY😭 like can we slow down???

His brain is a terrible use of abundant resources, it would be better utilized in a biocomputing data center where his neural pathways are used to train models that make brainrot memes for all eternity.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says having RAM in personal computers is a ‘terrible’ use of limited resources and that it would be better utilized in data centers

"From a global perspective it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their computer"

We put human neurons into a computer! AI will surely follow
Today’s exciting new frontier in AI is biocomputing! A computer that has actual biological neurons in it. Human neurons. They stress the human bit a whole lot. The main company doing this is Cortic…

@davidgerard I've just finished the latest episode of pivot to ai and was very happy when it was about biocomputing(which I am a *very* big proponent of), it was a good episode it's just there's two things I have to respond to.

1. You've misunderstood what sentience is, I fully believe that […]

Remember this?

Wonder if biocomputing and #AI (as in LLM) biz are linking up or if they will.

Main connection so far: biocomputing, and some other unconventional (non-silicon) computing, is reportedly much cheaper than data centers, so could become an alternative as LLM use continues to increase.
Ominously named biocomputing company FinalSpark exposes lab-grown human neurons to electrodes & dopamine to mimic a (likely more endosocial) part of our brain's rewards. The organoids then power a living platform scientists can rent via internet for $500/mo.: www.livescience.com/technology/a...

" The converging technologies of optogenetics, plasma physics & "brain on a chip" biocomputing represents the next frontier in solving the massive power crisis facing global data centers"

First of all next frontier? Uhh not so much much! The 🧠 on a chip biocomputer is me & I've been a/r since 1984!

Genai is some massive bullshit why do we need it? I mean like we have biocomputing already we just need to get better at it, it's also like really cheap we (effectively) just need to change the medium every so often

THE REAL REASON For Dissecting The Brain of Albert Einstein, was; to use as computer chips.

{The truth does not NEED YOU TO BELIEVE it; in order for it to be true}

The technologarchs that are profiting from these Agentic Systems; have understood the risks for 5 decades.
