It would be massively valuable! The sludge is such a major problem, and even just being able to extract the heavy metals would make the resulting biosludge safer for field dressing. Which would do a lot of the fertilizer work if applied at the right time (after harvest, before freezing).

last weds, i mistakenly attended a „bipartisan“ with-honor panel. mike gallagher (now of palantir) was there, talking about how mckinsey would make indiana farmers so happy bc they would be growing baby formula and prescription drugs out of vats of biosludge waste. this was before the part fp taped.

Well one problem we have is that lots of New England farms are totally poisoned by PFAS due to the use of biosludge as fertilizer. Those farms should become solar fields.

Local residents in my area are dealing with elevated PFAS chemicals in their wells. Local farms have elevated PFAS in the biosludge they spread on their fields. Now I have to run in the house when it rains and try not breath the mist? FML Who ever said better living through chemistry??
