Councilmember Dan Strauss put out a statement tonight claiming the mayor "promised" she wouldn't veto his bill. He also decried her "lack of leadership" in choosing to veto his RV ban. The council will now schedule a vote on whether to overturn the veto; the bill passed 6-3.

The sad thing is if the NDP government hadn't left its housing policies full of holes for big city gatekeepers to take advantage of, they could have produced undeniable results and a stronger constituency to preserve the policies.
Instead, they got all the blowback and only incremental results.
