A boss at Factory Motor Parts was found dead on Monday morning, and police are searching for the employee accused of stabbing her to death. Mary Kelly was reportedly found dead around 7:57 a.m. at 1700 Bobali Drive in Swatara Township, shortly before Clifton Emerson, 63, left the scene. When employees arrived at 7:37 a.m., they reportedly noticed a spilled coffee cup on the hallway floor leading to the office and a large hole in the drywall next to the cup. The employees then saw a large pool of blood leading into their boss's office, belonging to Mary Kelly, according to the affidavit. One of the employees reportedly looked through the window of Kelly’s office and found her lying on the ground, believing she was dead. They left the building with the other employee to call authorities, according to officials. The footprints led to a trash can that allegedly contained two blood-covered kitchen–type knives and what officers believed was hair. Swatara Police confirmed Kelly had multiple stab wounds on her neck and head. Police received video footage of the front entrance and parking area, as well as timestamps from an employee. In the footage, Kelly is seen arriving in the parking lot at 7:17 a.m., followed by a red Chevy SUV that pulls into the parking lot a minute. Police said she seemed to not notice the car pull up after her in the footage. The business’s alarm log reportedly shows it was disarmed at 7:18 a.m. by Kelley. An employee told police that every employee has their own disarm code. At 7:18 a.m., the red SUV is seen parked two spots away from Kelly’s car. A black man exited the vehicle wearing a hat with a “P” on it, a dark gray jacket, a multicolored striped shirt and silver sneakers. Police said the man appeared to have white facial hair and wore dark-colored clothing. The man reportedly disappeared from the camera’s view at 7:19 a.m. under the roof leading to the front entrance. No other people or vehicles were seen leaving the lot until 7:37 a.m., when the man was seen walking toward the red SUV, according to police. He reportedly did not appear to be holding anything. Police asked employees who drove a red SUV, and Emerson was mentioned. Police matched Emerson’s car information with the footage and confirmed the red SUV was his. Employees said he had worked there for about four years and, within the last week, started complaining about a lack of hours and not having enough money to pay rent. Police said when Kelly arrived at the business, she was the only person there and used her code to turn off the alarm. Officials said there were no signs of forced entry and that no other entrances or exits were unsecured. The only other person in the building with Kelly was Emerson until she was discovered by the employees who called 911. Emerson is listed as a registered sex offender under Megan’s Law since Nov. 10, 2015, for unlawful communication with a minor, indecent assault and aggravated indecent assault.
