As a progressive socialist I believe that bodily autonomy is not controversial. The right to choose is for the individual whose body it belongs to. Whether that’s reproductive freedom, access to gender affirming healthcare, legalization of drugs, euthanasia, or even sex work.

I mean, logically if she likes you as a person regardless of gender labels and accepts your femme presentation, she would have 0 issues with you taking hormones, no? I'd imagine that kind of affection extends to accepting your own control over your body autonomy.

We've made "bodily autonomy" for women mean only "abortion is okay" - But equality means every woman is 100% in charge of her own body and can do WHATEVER SHE WANTS with it (even being photographed).
Who are you, to be judging her for what she does with her body? Take care of your own choices.

We've made "bodily autonomy" for women mean only "abortion is okay" - But equality means every woman is 100% in charge of her own body and can do WHATEVER SHE WANTS with it (even being photographed).

This enrages me so deeply I don't know what to say. Being able to control your body is *the* most basic freedom, one which is necessary for the exercise of all other freedoms possible in a liberal democratic society

I think you are confusing what “reliance interests” mean. Yes, women will make different decisions in a post-Dobbs world, but there’s nothing comparable to the difficulty of unwinding existing marriages.
