Yes why does a wealthy individual put his investment in a blind trust, jump into politics just to steer the country he loves thru the turmoil of USA. Because he knows how. Having global connections while being Gov of BofC and BofE helps him steer Canada with his knowledge and experience.

Carney was the man who kept Canada from being affected by the last recession in 2008. He was also there for the Brits when they were struggling with a decision of going 'Brexit' or not. The fact that it was a CONSERVATIVE PM who appointed Carney as BofC Governor, should not be forgotten by anyone.
