#JamesBarryDiary 27/9/1876 Dark all day and a small dust of rain in the latter part of the afternoon. William McBeath and David Munro building wall about the front of the mill and my Bookbindery. We finished up all our stone, and nearly finished the last wall I intend to build this summer.

#JamesBarryDiary 13/6/1876 A beautiful warm sunny day indeed - too warm for me, considering the work that I have to do. I was clearing up my Bookbindery for the reception of my library from the House in order that I may have the house lathed and plastered as soon as possible.

.... Sometime after day. I took 3 of Radway's pills; took my breakfast in bed, and after a while I got up. I was just vomiting now, (7 p.m.) and went into my Bookbindery and was there all day, but I felt most miserable indeed. /2

Secondary World fiction publishing house and bookbindery. Or a LARP studio.
Take a break from the discourse and quote this with a business you would want to start if you could afford to lose money on it

70 years in the bookbindery made you a fucking samshus!

I mean, it doesn't solve the graphic design layout problem, but it occurs to me that it would probably be trivial to send a Bible of your preferred translation to a bookbindery and ask them to spiral-bind the pages

Fuck, I wish there was a bookbindery closer to me, but they all appear to be hours away, up in Indy. ~_~

I’ve started something called #Marginalia.

It’s a small #bookbindery project rooted in preservation, slow thought, and the strange little stories hiding in the margins of books.

There will be auctions, book dust, repair work, and probably some unhinged #lore along the way.

Let’s hop to it…🐇

#JamesBarryDiary 25/02/1876 Tremendious cold last night and this day. This was the coldest morning that I have seen in the mill this winter. I was a spell in the Bookbindery in the afternoon. It is blowing from the West, in great squalls and cold sharp squalls indeed. Annabella here still. Amen.

#JamesBarryDiary 11/2/1876 Somewhat of a cold day, blowing some in the evening. Cunningham attending mill and kiln and myself in the bookbindery cutting brass letters and a very tedious job it is and hard on the eyes on account of spectacles and magnifying glass that must be used. I am tight below.

#JamesBarryDiary 10/2/1876 Pretty frosty last night and all this day - some little moderation in the evening, snowing some this morning. I was between the Blacksmith shop and the Bookbindery all day. All hands are in middling health now, God be praised. There is wheels and sleds coming to the mill.

#JamesBarryDiary 9/2/1876 Some Frost last night and some all day, but still the day was fine, sunny most of the time. Cunningham attending mill and kiln and myself in the bookbindery - making brass letters and binding. Some dirt in my throat. Lent John McKay $10.00 for a short time - no note taken.

#JamesBarryDiary 2/2/1876 Mild morning and calm, but by and bye [sic] it commenced to spatter some rain, and at last the wind blew to a hurricane accompanied with rain. Cunningham attending mill and kiln and myself in the bookbindery making Brass letters for lettering books.

#JamesBarryDiary 1/2/1876 A beautiful warm soft day indeed. Sunny the most of the day and so warm that it melted the ice about the sunny side of the buildings some. I was in the bookbindery all day nearly. F. Cunningham attending mill and kiln, but there is not much coming in, the roads are so bare.

#JamesBarryDiary 21/12/1875 A pretty cold night last, and this day was milder than yesterday but still cold. I was grinding most of the forenoon; and doing some things at the bookbindery in the afternoon. Geo. Graham was here for dinner. Johnny McLeod's boys hawled me 18 bushel of coal this evening.

#JamesBarryDiary 16/12/1875 Froze pretty hard last night and freezing a little all day. Some few blinks of sun now and then. It was indeed a wintery looking day. Cunningham attending mill and kiln and myself in the bookbindery, binding old books for some folks here and there. All pretty well. Amen.

#JamesBarryDiary 12/12/1875 Another beautiful soft day. The ice is going off fast indeed, still there is sledding here away still. I was in the Bookbindery, working at Dr Fraser's (Downie) medical books. I gave Fred $5.00. All middling well. I have some of the cold still.
