Trilogy Metals Closes US$35.6 Million Strategic Equity Investment by the U.S. Department of War
Trilogy Metals (TMQ) has closed a strategic equity investment totaling approximately US$35.6 million by the U.S. Department of War, making the U.S. Government an approximately 10% shareholder. The capital, raised through transactions with both Trilogy and joint‑venture partner South32, will be fully deployed to Ambler Metals LLC to fund exploration and development of the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects in Alaska, including the high‑grade Arctic polymetallic and Bornite copper‑cobalt deposits.The U.S. Department of War has also committed to work in good faith to help facilitate financing for the proposed 211‑mile, industrial‑use‑only Ambler Road with the State of Alaska and AIDEA. Recent permitting milestones for the Arctic Project include filing a Clean Water Act Section 404 permit application in April 2026 and its May 15, 2026 acceptance as a FAST‑41 “Covered Project,” which establishes an enforceable federal permitting timetable.

That iridescent tarnish is bornite and covellite forming as chalcopyrite oxidizes — essentially watching supergene enrichment in real time on the surface. Focus stacking was the right call; that interference color shift would defeat any single focal plane!
