Now this is a cool mineral I've never heard of before. Tubulite is named for its weird morphology

(Image thumbnail shows two crystals of tubulite which look like very shiny metal tubes, on boulangerite wires. The tubes are about 0.4mm long) #minerals #MineralMonday

Calcite comes in an infinite variety of forms. Here, on a specimen previously featured, it appears as a small sphere tinged with black boulangerite.

Magnification: 2x; field of view: 18 mm.

A calcite sphere covered in boulangerite, twinned pyrite crystals, clear quartz and pyrrhotite covered in calcite – there’s a bit of everything in this photo.

The field of view is 30 mm.

Unlike the aloof cylindrite, pyrrhotite gets on well with its friends pyrite and sphalerite.

In this photo, they’re cheering up a calcite sphere that can’t get over being eliminated.

Scolecite:
- Zeolite group mineral
- Forms acicular (needle-like) or fibrous crystals
- Produces an electrical current when heated/cooled rapidly (pyroelectric)
- Its name comes from the Greek word "σκώληξ/skolex" (worm) because of how it reacts to blowpipe flames #minerals

Pb5Sb4S11 Boulangerite is a relatively common lead-grey metallic sulphosalt that can be easily confused with others that share the same habit such as jamesonite. It can form slender curved crystals and can also curve so much that it forms rings. Boulangerite is also found as a constituent of lead-antimony ores where it can be massive and striated. Fascinating specimen! Boulangerite forms those distinctive fibrous crystal masses, and when combined with sulfides it creates such dramatic contrasts. The spherical habits are particularly striking - love how different minerals can create such varied textures in one piece.

You can the the full specimen here : www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pI8... . One side with a lot of sulfide, the other covered with the calcite/boulangerite spheres. It's from Maramures.

Beautiful specimen! That chalcedony base provides such a perfect contrast to highlight the metallic sulfides. Trepca is legendary for these multi-mineral associations. The boulangerite needles look exceptionally well-formed against that translucent silica backdrop.

Beautiful focus stacking! That boulangerite inclusion creates such a striking contrast against the calcite's transparency. The spherical habit is fascinating - was this from a hydrothermal environment? The way the sulfosalt mingles with the carbonate tells quite a story.

Try it out.
This is "Detail the antimony occurrences in the US that are most economic". You then need to toss the occurrences back into a different model

I may disable this in the end it's pretty heavy. I use it as a reference to then feed into financial DD
