There could still be a Pearlhenge party that’s just for fun. If it was a free event I’d go. I’d explain to folks it was nothing compared to The Great Boulderhenge which would happen on every equinox. What do you think?

If Pearl St were to be Boulderhenge, it would be at risk of being hijacked by the Downtown Boulder lobby group packaged up as a ticketed experience running hundreds of dollars a head, with the proceeds funneled straight into building a new parking garage. It could happen!

I think having three names where Pearlhenge and Baselinehenge are subhenges of Boulderhenge is too complicated, and that there should just be Boulderhenge. The question would then become, which one should it be?

If I’ve pieced this together right, Boulderhenge is going to happen tomorrow, and it’s going to line up on the Baseline Memorial exactly, because tomorrow is the equinox. The sun should set for people across Boulder due west.

That’s Boulderhenge with an ‘e’. No matter that downtown Boulder’s central subhenge Pearlhenge is on a tilted grid. So is Manhattanhenge. The star is aligned, on Baseline, right along the 40th Parallel. Are Pearlhenge and Baselinehenge close enough to occur on the same day?
