I just use whatever I can to stabilise me, often just balancing my elbow on my knee. Zerene does a good job of aligning images so I get away with a wee bit of movement. Done with focus bracketing on the camera - an 18 shot stack will take around 1 second so I don't have to be stable for too long

I’ve always felt incredibly ambivalent about him (even bracketing the Thielverse stuff) because on the one hand he offers a tool and when the tool is used well the results can be stunning but so often for his acolytes it’s a case of having only a hammer and thus everything is a nail
