Had a walk around the patch yesterday, still loads of continental Song Thrushes about. At the bird crops, no sign of the Little Bunting but some lovely views of Reed Bunting. 3 Yellow-browed Warblers and a Brambling at the Tin Church.

Some years we have huge numbers here on the Moss, and some years barely any at all. A mixed flock of 500+ Chaffinches and Brambling is one of my favourite local birding experiences, but that's increasingly rare.

So that was September 2026. Some absolutely brilliant views of some very interesting birds, and a lot of variety locally. #ukbirding #birds

Hard birding weather saw myself and @davidjrbratt.bsky.social’s daily Yellow-browed total fall to 5 birds. We found a Firecrest. Revisited one of yesterday’s Barred. Good numbers of Brambling, Song Thrush and Redwing. Willow Warbler and Blackcap in weird places. Star of the day though:
