Aliens, Bigfoot, Nessie, Braxie and Mothman are our top 5 selling mini figures. With Halloween right around the corner it is also fitting that the story behind The Mothman is definitely one of the darkest out there and we are here for it…

Still showing off the art I got at Mothman Festival! We picked up this @blenkoglasscompany Braxie from @keepon_creepinon! I'd love to grab the Mothman one too eventually, but this one is just so striking.
I have some more exciting Flatwoods Monster content to share with you soon… stay tuned!

i tried to follow as many of the deathmark standard design motifs while still having fun with them, so i could not resist making their hood design an homage to my beloved Braxie 💚💜

Doodles from the past few days.
Some kind of gwompy goober named Braxie.
She has four little gwomplets (not what they're called) that follow her around as cronies.
Couldn't decide which photo i preferred, but friends said both looked nice for different reasons, so here's both.

Pokemon training takes many forms ya know. Braxie here gets some physical "defense" today.
A little camera test I did on a whim that came out rather good.

Here is another version of Braxie @d6016.bsky.social has pitched. This one kind of reminds me of Banjo Kazooie or maybe even PLOK.
Right now we are torn on which direction to go: Thirsty or Goofy? They are both so good.

🧵Next piece of early concept art is also from @d6016.bsky.social.
We are kicking around ideas for how we want Braxie, the Flatwoods Monster.
DD wanted her to have a "Goth Mommy" kind of feel to help differentiate our version of her from other popular depictions.

Another version of Braxie that @d6016.bsky.social cooked up. To me, this version looks a bit Banjo Kazooey-ish or something out out PLOK!

DD had the idea that the weird "ace of spades" head shape of Braxie was actually a hood that's part of her dress.
The Flatwoods monster has always been described as having a long skirt like body, but we went with a fancy dress to better match the hood. (sketches sloppily colored by RLS)

An exciting thing we get to do is decide what personality these creatures have.
There needs to be a relationship between design, attitude, and folklore. Each informs the next.
For Braxie, we think we will go with her being aloof and a bit strange.

I knew that I would likely not sell a ton of jackalopes or nessies cause they are expensive (for good reason), but not even Braxie or the Fresno Nightcrawlers???
