Ooft. Busy times here with #BreedingBirdSurvey, bird ringing, nest finding and recording, training, talks, events, and adding the flood of avian migrants into #BirdTrack. Sometimes we wish spring would slow down so we could keep up!!! Have a great weekend! #BirdingScotland

I assisted my DH @scottdenkers.bsky.social with his #breedingbirdsurvey route yesterday and we saw this non-bird. #blackbear #silverskagitroad Best wishes, youngster!

One of my favorite stops along my #BreedingBirdSurvey route in #Woods county, #Oklahoma is at this bridge. The #donkey hanging out beneath it was a new one!

I had one of the first ever BBS squares in pilot yr through to 2022.
I could cycle to it. I now do upland rovers but entirely by train and bike, since 2019. I have 3 sq on Rum this summer never been walked ever.

Covering urban environments is as important for the @btobirds.bsky.social’s #BreedingBirdSurvey as covering rural and wilder areas. It’s also just as much fun!

24 species were recorded in this Cardiff square today, including 4 Swallows, my first Greenfinch since 2023 and my first Swift of the year.

Despite the scars left by heavy industry, the south Wales valleys have pockets of lovely habitat where all that remains of the old communities are derelict farmhouses and mines. Redstarts, Tree Pipits, Cuckoos and Kites here on today's @btobirds.bsky.social #BreedingBirdSurvey north of Bedlinog.

I’m definitely more of an owl than a lark but one of the benefits of being a @btobirds.bsky.social #BreedingBirdSurvey volunteer is that it makes you get out of bed early and enjoy, what really is, the best time of the day.

Good numbers of birds around this morning on my first BBS of 2026.

Drove out to #skagitprovincialpark yesterday, one of my favourite places! #hozameenrange #skagitriver completed two bird lists, had a picnic lunch and flagged our #breedingbirdsurvey stops on the way back. #grateful

Latest update of indicators of variation in #bird 🐦abundance with #French #BreedingBirdSurvey: scary 😨 decrease for farmland birds that have lost 1 bird in 3 over the last 17 years.

My @BirdsCanada birdathon shirt didn't arrive in time for my big day BUT it did arrive in time for the #BreedingBirdSurvey we're doing tomorrow!

Taking a day off from counting ducks to count songbirds instead 🙃

@btobirds.bsky.social I was out early this morning for my first #breedingbirdsurvey of the year. In the distance in a field of sheep with new born lambs I spotted tens of gulls - great black-backed, black headed and others. What attracts them? Do they eat the afterbirth?
