I just posted a little thread because of exactly this AB, as I wasn't sure how Smith was in the regular season (as a Yankees fan the thread was comparing him to Austin Wells, but the Smith stat speaks for itself) bsky.app/profile/brob...
answered my own question and WOOF. Wells was #3 in MLB for catchers with more than 20 challenges, good for 3.1 runs above average. Smith was... #68 (out of 77 eligible catchers) for -1.6 runs above average
