I watched the 1976 film #BugsyMalone just now due to the end of this song (starting at 2:38) currently being used in an advert on TV (with this original being miles better). I'd forgot just how good a song it was, not having seen the film since I was a kid.

Watched #BugsyMalone last night, which is the anti-Blue Remembered Hills: children playing adults to highlight the childish nature of gang violence. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it: maybe it's just a collection of great songs held together by 50s gangster film tropes.

No idea how old I was when I saw #BugsyMalone on the telly. 🤔 But it's one of those films that I remember fondly from my childhood. And I can still see why it took to me so much back in the day. Just given what a vivid imagination I had as a kid! 📽️🎞️

But #BugsyMalone is another example of a film that does not tickle my fancy anywhere near as much as an adult. And not just because I had completely managed to forget it was a musical. 😐 That said, you could see already at that early age that Jodie Foster would become a star actress. 📽️🎞️
