The same picture but now the view from the hill is in focus revealing leafy detail in the nearest trees and a series of fields separated by low grassy verges in the middle distance. On one side a road disappears into the distance, lined by trees studded with a few houses. More blocky house are buried among distance trees amd in the farea distance are brown fields rising to the hills, now revealed to be covered with more trees. The fluffy white and blue-grey clouds fade into infinity beyond.

Bit gloomy today but still well worth the walk from #Aller to #BurrowMump. The Iron Age fort at #Athelney from where #Alfred raised an army and defeated #Guthrum is hidden even from this height! #Somerset
