C3P0 being annoying is such a great joke and it took me until adulthood to notice it, cos he’s just C3P0 if you grew up with the franchise.
He’s designed to be an ambassadorial diplomatic droid (that’s why he’s on Leia’s ship, as cover), but he can’t quite get on with *anyone*. Simple clean gag.
