For a non ship answer, it's Estinien! He's one of Cala's best friends, they've seen each other at their absolute worst and neither of them would have gotten through without the other.

In Tertium she gritted her teeth and dealt with it. She expected it. Cala is sad for people conscripted into service, but she's more mad at the Empire for that than torn up with guilt for defending herself/her friends from the people who often try to kill them.
