My belated #FFXIVWrite2026 thread!

I plan to do as many days as I can, but I'm also not stressing about it 💜 Entries are rated no higher than T unless otherwise specified.

(Cala is hoping I won't make her suffer too much this month)
Calantha reading ffxiv write entries where I make her life sad.

Of course women don't like the cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's the women from Stormblood.
A bunch of Stormblood women in battle poses together in Rhalgr's Reach. From left to right: Dorgono, Yotsuyu, Yugiri, Lyse, Fordola, Sadu, Cirina

An Impossible Dream, Wol/Hien, WIP 3/6

Hien meets his in-laws.

Interlude: Tea is up!
"Fullglad am I to taste real Doman tea again. Limsa Lominsa had imports, but 'tis not the same," Ayako commented. She had a delicate grip on her cup. "We never could have imagined that our little boy would grow up to be one of the heroes who liberated our home." Her tone was warm, but Hien didn't like the way she looked at Fafnir. As if they were a stranger, not her flesh and blood. "I am glad to make you proud," Fafnir said flatly, and Hien thanked his political experience to stay his expression. Fafnir was a poor liar. They continued with no change to their cadence. "My father always told me stories of Doma. Of her beautiful shores and rolling hills, and the strength of its people." Their words were tinged with bitterness. Hien knew that things were complicated with Fafnir's parents. He had the suspicion that he was only aware of half of it.

Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.

My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

It's rare for Aymeric to be the one handing out bedtime reminders, so you have to forgive him for enjoying it. #felspose
Lysander stands in front of a bookshelf, holding a book and looking for another, with a surprised expression on his face as Aymeric hugs him from behind.

My family had this illustrated encyclopedia of history and there was a drawing of some guy getting tied up before being stabbed. The image itself wasn't even that scary, it was all pre-stabbing, I just got really freaked out by the idea of gore or violence at the time 😭

I was gonna list Bayar's answer for that qotd since he *was* with Arenvald in the StB patches, but I don't know if that's still a thing because I think I want him to get yoinked to the first around the same time Alisaie does.

home depot date. (he came here for one thing and by Byregot he is going to wait for it.)
A colored sketch of modern au Sylvien and Beatin. They are standing behind an orange metal accordion gate, waiting for the aisle to open again. Beatin has his hands on his hips, prepared to wait for the saw blade he came here for (depicted as a real photo in his thought bubble) while Sylvien hangs off his arm, looking a little uncomfortable, hesitantly pointing off to the side and suggesting they maybe take a look at some flowers in the meantime.

We've made it again to WoLship Saturday.

Please imagine how they warm up on a cold day - staying in bed, hot drinks, and helping each other bundle up if they must go out. Maybe they don't feel the cold anymore but go thru the motions because companionship.

Or don't.

a portrait gpose of my wol, a blonde female presenting viera, and ardbert, a brown-haired hyur man. they are standing in a field of purple flowers and holding each other close, both laughing as ardbert playfully kisses her cheek. they seem very happy and content in each other's company. a portrait gpose of my wol, a blonde female presenting viera, and ardbert, a brown-haired hyur man. they are standing in a field of purple flowers and holding each other close, both laughing as ardbert playfully kisses her cheek. they seem very happy and content in each other's company. this is the same as the previous gpose, just zoomed in closer on their faces. a portrait gpose of my wol, a blonde female presenting viera, and ardbert, a brown-haired hyur man. they are standing in a field of purple flowers and holding each other close. this is the same perspective as the first gpose, only that now they are looking into each other's eyes and smiling softly at one another.

Actually if folks are up for it, I'd love to hear: What was your favorite part about participating in FFXIVWrite this year (and possibly your first time ever)? Whether it's meeting new people, writing unexpected lore, passing a personal challenge or whatever else!

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.
