Lots of billionaires are pumping crazy money into the 2026 midterms.

President Donald Trump is not among them.

Republicans have made fearmongering about "socialism" the closing argument of their midterm campaigns because they've run out of ways to defend their failed policies.

Bold closing message for Republican campaigns
“.. said he would ‘protect’ the billionaire entrepreneur and any aides who were targeted by Congressional investigators, including Edward Coristine, who was part of Musk’s #DOGE project ..”

So, it's a day of high-anxiety. Wanted to share some thoughts on how to navigate the day from someone who's worked on campaigns and covered campaigns.

Elections day, especially elections days with high stakes, can drive you insane and the present media environment is programmed to make you insane.

Haley Stevens says she’s standing with country and she can’t stand with hate. Standing next to Mike Rogers, who has run one of the most bigoted campaigns I’ve ever seen.

Let’s examine that.

truly if they hold on to anything it's despite their campaigns this cycle and not because of them

He’s repeating the racist talking points from campaigns I organized against FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

what the hell
Ohio Gov. candidate Vivek Ramaswamy claims that "a Black baby" is "probably safer in the streets of Chicago than in the womb of his own Black mother"

When Senator El-Sayed campaigns for Conor Lamb for Senate in Pennsylvania in 2028, the intra-party divide will be healed. The apology forms settled. A clean slate.

Aside from a single local story, the media's astonishing refusal to ask Mike Rogers why he recruited Hitler-saluting Nazis to his staff, or to ask ANY Republican about the half-billion dollars GOP campaigns accepted from a sieg-heiling Nazi this cycle, should stain them forever.

Shout out to everyone who canvasses for political campaigns. I simply am not built for that.
October 30, 2026 at 6:45 PM
the amount of money involved in these campaigns makes me sick
NEW: Abdul El-Sayed raised *$2.4 million* on Sunday — shattering the campaign’s single day fundraising record.

Average contribution of $36.74 from more than 65,000 donors, per campaign.

29,602 people donated for the first time.

If I were running the Democratic campaigns I'm not sure I could have asked for something more on message for my operation than Trump giving a closing speech at the Lincoln monument trying to re-litigate the Reflecting Pool clownshow.

If Haley Stevens said something about combatting Islamophobia during her campaigns, I would like to see it. Maybe she did.

i can't think of a worse person, channel, show, time, and message for republican turnout than this. must've been a fun morning for gop campaigns :-)
Trump, ranting and raving on Fox & Friends, lies that "the inflation is solved" and says, "everything is going good"

A 24/7 racist smear campaign by practically every major media outlet in the country demanding El-Sayed condemn outsiders, but *not a single question* lobbed at the GOP about Nazis staffing and funding their campaigns. It's reprehensible and unforgivable.

Why is this being withheld from campaigns?
November 1, 2026 at 3:22 AM
if everyone did this it would make their campaigns slightly more expensive and inconvenient to fund!!
November 2, 2026 at 8:50 AM
Yeah but that's not because they ran atrocious campaigns, they just got purged by the fuhrer

A Washington Sun review of FEC records indicates Trump hasn’t donated to any candidate committee, national party committee or super PAC during the 2026 election cycle, through Oct. 14.
