What would be the best way to recreate this type of surface… the fabric, thermal protection on bits of the ISS, like here on the CanadaArm. Model it? Or texture it?

Fun wee story. Years ago, visiting family in Portland. Young nephews building a nasa space station…we asked ‘where’s the Canadaarm?’ They were forced to find out - in a playful way but we made our point! 🇨🇦
