Biggest sign yet progressive candidates learned ball
Cenk Uygur complains that no progressive Senate candidate has gone on The Young Turks this election cycle, and he blames the consultants for it.

"Do you know that we've asked all the progressives running in the Senate to come on the show?"

I gotta say dem primary voters made some pretty good calls this year in terms of which candidates were going to be serious general election candidates and which ones were egotistical nightmares, as shown by the behavior of the losers

Brilliant strategy for the Republicans to make the midterms all about this buffoon instead of just letting individual candidates run their races.

if democrats sweep a good part of the explanation will be that a bunch of the republican candidates are just dogshit politicians
To close his campaign, Roger Marshall is running a 60-second ad about a central theme of this campaign — how he treated patients.

“We had to keep the lights on, so we occasionally handed accounts over to collection agencies”, he explains.

just so y'all know there is a group chat of candidates who lost this cycle and Hayley Stevens is NOT in it nor is she allowed to cross our sacred virtual threshold

Except for trans people based on the candidates yall are running
House Democrats will always fight to protect healthcare.

I just hope all of the candidates had fun

It says a lot that Republicans are trying to trick voters by attributing unpopular REPUBLICAN policies to Democratic candidates.

We need psychological screenings for all candidates.

GOP candidates and operatives right now

Don't let them fool you: We agree on more than we disagree on - and our candidates can deliver on the changes most Americans want and need.

I'm told by Republican candidates it's totally normal to make referrals for small dollar amounts to collections agencies...
Even by the gross standards of modern political fundraising, this is exceptionally gross.
November 2, 2026 at 9:05 PM
This seems slightly more ratfuckery than the wholly legal act of two candidates with similar names appearing on the same ballot
November 1, 2026 at 6:25 PM
I mean like...Dem leadership backed the more centrist candidates in primaries, I guess? But they've uniformly rallied around progressive candidates once they've won

She's unintentionally done future candidates a favour on that basis.

You can't pull this bullshit on candidates to the left of party ideology while excusing pro-life candidates in red states. I mean, you can and they do, but the credibility problems pile up.
5 days before midterms…

“Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., criticized Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed over their views on Israel Thursday, calling their positions ‘wrong’ and saying they did not reflect congressional Democrats.”

Some people are pretty solid bureaucrats and bad candidates for high office/weird freaks.

Shame on Alaska Democrats for recruiting candidates who will draw support from people who’d otherwise vote Republican.

Also, much harder to smear dozens of candidates than one woman.
*If* if the Democrats do win big in the midterms, expect a complete meltdown from Elon Musk who will learn that a shedload of money cannot resist the tide of the political fundamentals.

Elect better candidates.

In my lifetime, presidential candidates used public financing.
The 20 biggest donors this cycle have spent $2 BILLION on the midterms, the overwhelming majority of which has gone to help Republicans.

In the entire 2008 cycle, the last before Citizens United, total billionaire spending was $16 million.

We must get Big Money out of politics.

Really have to give it to the Democratic Party for nominating strong candidates this election. Thanks to primary voters, and to a lesser extent some party officials, the Democrats picked a variety of charismatic, competent candidates who seem suited to their constituencies. And dodged some bullets.

Even competing candidates are disowning her
