there's a reason a lot of ride accidents happen at fairs/carnivals, and/or in countries with either a lack of (enforced) regulation or lack of training/maintenance, both of which have less margin of error at reputable chains/parks that have procedures in place for this exact reason.

Many years ago I worked on carnivals and fairs in the US and York was the last one I ever did. Was quite a big one - I saw the Gogos play at it!

I do not miss the 1970s, part the millionth: there was a fad of buying painted turtles at carnivals and fairs and so forth. Luckily my parents were like "wtf is wrong with people." They were wrong about many things, but they were solidly against animal harm.
