Awwthekanon:
It is heartbreaking to watch people who trusted you treat your very existence as a political liability. You deserve to be championed, not quietly traded away for centrist votes.

Conservative Reveals Shocking Truth About Trump Fatigue Impacting Him Deeply
A growing wave of disillusionment is sweeping through the ranks of conservative supporters as they grapple with what some are calling "Trump Fatigue." This sentiment, championed by veteran journalist Bernard Goldberg, suggests that the ongoing controversies surrounding President Donald Trump are wearing down even his most ardent backers. Goldberg, a former CBS News correspondent with nearly three decades of experience in journalism, articulated his distress in an opinion piece for The Hill.

With all do respect, this is not new and pretending so is insulting. The difference is that it’s championed from the White House.

Such a highlight of the INQYR Beyond Limits conference that literally pushed the limits of traditional academic spaces. So proud to have championed the Category Is project and see this culminating performance ❤️

I'm not sure I agree about this characterization of Cam (he was my council member, and I had a decent amount to do with him through neighborhood association stuff). There was some stuff like police accountability that he championed in a fairly lonely way in some years.

Pick-me group under divide and drule. This bodes ill for NATO. The decaying hegemon at the centre of this is proving to not have allies, only interests. Unlike the empire whose Lord Palmerston championed that perspective, the interests are neither national nor strategic, only naked personal greed.
U.S. organizes a "Bergen Group" of favored NATO allies based on defense spending, drawing backlash from excluded members. European officials warn the exclusive club fractures alliance unity while Russia escalates its hybrid warfare campaigns across the continent.
European allies push back against US-led NATO VIP club
Washington’s move to gather favored allies could undermine NATO unity, some countries excluded from the group say.

Science and research fund
California could create its own multi-billion-dollar science and health research agency under a bill signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom Wednesday, helping to fill a gap left by the politicization of science under the second Trump administration. Voters will decide in a year and a half whether to fund the idea, which the University of California has championed. Approved by state lawmakers at a time when federal science funding has become increasingly unpredictable, the bill places a $7.5 billion bond measure on the March 2028 ballot to pay for the creation of the California Foundation for Science and Health Research. The new state agency would provide grants and loans for projects in public health, climate science, agriculture and other areas. Panels of scientists would review proposals, and the agency would develop rules allowing the state to share in some of the profits from inventions made with its support. “Scientific advancements are curing and preventing diseases, improving the lives of people living with chronic conditions, protecting our communities from wildfires, lowering the cost of food, and powering our economy,” the bill’s author, state Sen. Scott Wiener, said in a statement. “We cannot allow the federal government to throw away that hope for...

Iowa Republicans' Convenient Reversal on Iran War Exposes Political Cowardice

Iowa Republicans are now condemning a conflict they repeatedly championed, but only after years of supporting it.

If re-elected, they'll simply revert to supporting Trump's agenda—regardless of what they promised voters.

The Republican party has championed itself as the party of bad faith, boldface lies, and massive corruption. This is ridiculous.

(I hope it doesn't sound too weird to respond to this with genuine thanks for all of your support - I know I wouldn't have gotten that first Hugo nod if you hadn't championed my poem, and I'm sorry that I didn't manage to thank you in person this year.)

Well, that is a plus for all of this.

Especially not getting some Trump stooges to take on the DCU to kill it faster than the prior management did the old DCEU.

(And yeah, some people on Facebook who championed this merger are in full-on denial...)

Julie Schwartz famously championed pink and purple on covers in the 50s/60s, and we get SO many wonderful ones from that

In our wonderful modern world with things like trans flags it makes them still feel fresh to me 🥰

YT Southern politicians who fought to preserve slavery and pushed Jim Crow laws in the 1800s were ancestors of today's GOP not modern Democrats. When the Dems championed Civil Rights Act in the 60s, those exact conservative Southern segregationists abandoned the Dems and flocked to the GOP.

Hilary McPhee has died. She may not be a familiar name in the UK but she co-founded, with Di Gribble, McPhee Gribble, an Australian independent publishing house that first published, or championed, authors such as Helen Garner, Tim Winton and Murray Bail.
