Now they just need to give kensei a rework that removes that dogwater dash chargeup mechanic and just let you rawdog the dashes for mana per dash. A stat should never be 100% worthless (mana)

(6/) I can at least mention that BTD6 does have its developers work toward improving balance. As there are things like Chargeup Grenade being hard to notice when it gets used, you could always contact them. NinjaKiwi (the company behind BTD6) has a support form on their site for this as well.

(5/) The other issue is how Grenade as primary isn't popular, especially in later Rounds. Laser was given a lot of love in its chargeup power, so people are only caring about using it as part of Flight Boost, even though Level 13+ Grenade richly benefits from the ever popular Alchemist drinks.

(4/) Weapon chargeup is only influenced by the weapon being used, so a player can top off on chargeup on a weapon of choice during a safe Round and keep Rosalia from attacking with the weapon. This is especially glaring on Round 74, which is followed by 2 Rounds of notable difficulty.
