The invertebrate record in the Jehol is also extensive. Familiar looking insects, spiders, bivalves, and crayfish are known from these rocks. Meanwhile, more peculiar looking crustaceans like #Chenops inhabited the waterways. (8/_)

They say Triops is a "living fossil" since the Triassic, but it never stopped evolving. Key papers (next skeet) show molecular evolution & speciation over time, expected with stasis. 4th paper shows subtle morphological change over time, too!
