Mini painters advising how to use object source lighting:
Channel 1: Take a light hand with OSL. You can basically drybrush it on, giving nearby objects a tinge of the color of the light source.
Channel 2: Blast it with your airbrush making smaller zones of brighter tone. See "Cherenkov radiation."

Ensign Chekhov only appeared from season two onwards. Any Slavic redshirt seen in series one, is Ensign Cherenkov who has traveled faster than the speed of light, and thus backwards in time.

@18107@aussie.zone Cherenkov’s gun is when a gun fires a bullet through a medium faster than the speed of light in that medium. Chekhov’s gun is when a gun is discovered in act one, and kills someone by act three.

A soft-bodied worm wriggled his way into the back of the ship. The warmth of the fusion core was just a bulkhead away, and he was bathed in the Cherenkov radiation emanating from the tanks.

Bad news: It's Demon Core-kun, and he's being reeeeeeal casual with that screwdriver.

Don't ask 'What is Cherenkov Radiation?' Unless you can say 'Cherenkov' three times fast.

What is Cherenkov Radiation?
Cherenkov radiation is a form of energy that we can perceive as a blue glow emitted when the electrically charged particles that compose atoms.

When a particle travels faster than light can in water, its shockwave emits a characteristic glow called Cherenkov radiation, the blue light seen in nuclear reactors.

Atom: not only is yes I did make an animation IN my animation.
basically it's a sword loosely based on nuclear reactors(thus the control rod being pulled back to make it glow with cherenkov radiation) as well as nuclear waste/disposal(thus the everything else like the "not a place of honor" spikes)
