Yeah, a proper old school word-of-mouth viral thing. I had at least 5 friends send me the KEXP session in the weeks after it came out.

i don't really wanna call someone out or anything, but i do feel compelled to state for the record that i don't agree! i write some degree of my stories with the goal of either leaning into or subverting expectations, and i actually do NEED readers to engage with that and anticipate stuff haha
