I just realised maybe this is worth sharing?
marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemNa...
It's essentially wrapping an existing fork of Pyright + MicroPython & CircuitPython stubs, into a VS Code extension.
It probably needs more testing, but maybe others could find it useful already.
MicroPython & CircuitPython IntelliSense - Visual Studio Marketplace
Extension for Visual Studio Code - Autocomplete, type checking and inline docs for MicroPython and CircuitPython boards. Works on desktop and in the browser, with no server backend.

Prototyping a new project. “Ripples” a reactive chandelier inspired by Jen Lewin’s Edison Drops. Uses #CircuitPython, an ESP32-S3, an Adafruit VL53l1x distance sensor, and some ws2812 5v NeoPixel style lights with power injected every 50 units. Will create a better housing & will write up when done.

CircuitPython 11.0.0-alpha.2がリリースされていたので眺めていたら、displayioとOnDiskBitmapが改善されていたのでどんなもんか気になって試してみました。 github.com リリースノートから該当部分を抜き出すと、displayioのプルリクはこのあたり。 displayio: composite common TileGrid rows without per-pixel calls by lynt-smitka · Pull Request #11461 · adafruit/circuitpython · GitHub displayio: 2048 byte area buffer on ports with a 24 KB stack by lynt-smitka · Pull Request #11464 · adafruit/circuitpython · GitHub Draw 16-bit images faster by mikeysklar · Pull Request #11633 · adafruit/circuitpython · GitHub OnDiskBitmapのプルリクはこのあたり。 displayio: fast OnDiskBitmap on rotated displays by lynt-smitka · Pull Request #11465 · adafruit/circuitpython · GitHub displayio: read OnDiskBitmap pixels from mapped flash by lynt-smitka · Pull Request #11572 · adafruit/circuitpython · GitHub #### テスト環境 テスト環境として、PicoとPico2Wを用意しました。無線なしのPico2を用意すればよりよかった気がしますが、他で使われていて用意できませんでした。 ディスプレイはPimoroniの1.3インチ・240px四方のST7789なヤツを使用しました。それに合わせて、32色に減色した57KBくらいのビットマップファイルを用意しました。ここに貼り付けた画像は多分JPGに変換されていそう。 コードの抜粋。ビットマップの読み込みと表示の一式の開始から終了までを計測して、後で結果を表示しています。 p1 = time.monotonic_ns() bmp = OnDiskBitmap("/st7789.bmp") bmp_grid = TileGrid(bmp, pixel_shader=bmp.pixel_shader,) splash.append(bmp_grid) p2 = time.monotonic_ns() result = (p2 - p1) / 1000 / 1000 / 1000 label = label.Label(FONT, text="%s" % result, color=0xFFFFFF, scale=3, x=5,y=200) splash.append(label) #### 動画を撮って比較 PicoとPico2W、CircuitPython 10.3.1と11.0.0-alpha.2の組み合わせで、それぞれ実行して動画を撮影しました。 youtu.be はっや!PicoはPico2の10.3.1環境よりも0.1秒早くなっているし、Pico2も元から早いと思っていたのが一瞬でビャッと出るようになっているし、マジか。ありがてえ。 表にまとめるとこう。 CircuitPythonバージョン | Pico | Pico2 ---|---|--- 10.3.1 | 0.77秒 | 0.29秒 11.0.0-alpha.2 | 0.38秒 | 0.14秒 あと、この比較方法ではあまり数字が変わらなかったのですが、Rectによる画面全体の描画とか、REPLのスクロールなんかも、体感ではキビキビ描画されるようになったような気がしています。 11.0.0は神アプデか? #### クロス証明書の受け入れ対応もきた 11.0.0-alpha.2では、ルート証明書バンドルの縮小とクロス署名されたルート証明書の受け入れ対応も取り込まれています。9.2.7以降、misskey.ioにアクセスしようとしたらTLSエラーになって悩まされていたのですが、わりと最近になってgoogle.comのクロス署名されたルート証明書であることに気づいて、自分でCA証明書をスクリプトに書けば回避できるとわかったのですが、それが不要になりました。助かる。 やっぱ11.0.0は神アプデか? github.com #### 正式リリースが楽しみ どっちの改善もかなり嬉しいやつだったので、正式リリースが楽しみ、と言う感じでした。 現在のalphaでも問題なく動くので、普段遣いにも積極的にぶち込んでおいて、正式リリースされたらまた更新するプランでいきましょ。

#ESP32 folks, what do you use for Audio hardware? A PCM5102 + PAM8302 w/3.3v pin sounds good w/a 3w 4ohm mono enclosed speaker. All Adafruit. Tried some single board DAC+AMP options with MAX98357A. One from DF Robot and one from Usdrwam. Sounded terrible. Same speakers, wires, #CircuitPython code.

It seems a better way to use the AI than to have it "write" a program for me.
