Really proud of Michaela Bartusel, who initiated this work while being a PhD in our lab. Michaela never gave up and, together with the great guidance of my friend and former colleague Eliezer Calo, made some very interesting findings regarding the genetic basis of orofacial clefting.

With Irish iirc Duolingo is making sure you can form all the present tenses of a verb meanwhile Rosetta Stone early on throws you into clefting and sentence structure and focus, just expecting you'll figure out verbs vs verbal nouns or something. the latter also just works

Interestingly though Romance languages don't really do prosodic focus marking and are much more reliant on clefting and fronting to mark focus
