It's been a big appeal of more adventure-style narratives like giant gorg, golden kamuy, dorohedoro- the fights are small interruptions and explosive climaxes to more investigative, conversation-focused arcs. I should probably try watching FMA again...

FLOWERBLOOM chapter 10 is slowly starting to take shape! I've been unbelievably busy, but I'm eager to get back to it, and she's about a third of the way done, I reckon. More importantly, I now have clear ideas of where I want 'er to go, which is usually a sign the writing's gonna speed up :>

It’s such an anticipated encounter and feels like it should be one of several dramatic climaxes, but it’s staged very statically/cheaply. Doc highlights the lack of drama well, then goes on to explain why choices don’t make a story better and why Yakuza is compelling despite verbosity + linearity.
