Me and my mortal weakness for daytime stickies. This one more of an affordable example of Barsac compared to Coutet and Climens, but still quite enjoyable from other experiences. Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend. Stored at 45, popped and poured. Cork came out cleanly with the Ah-so. Visually, a clean golden color, leaning more yellow than bronze at almost 20 years of age. On the nose, the first whiff upon pouring was the familiar scent of acetone/nail polish remover from some examples of Botrytis wines. It faded away within a few minutes, however - revealing more bakery than tropical fruit

Today's theme is clearly '1980' - so instead of a meal, I paired the Barsac with some films from the harvest year. Stored at 45, popped and poured. For the first time, the Ah-so failed me! The cork was soaked and broke apart quickly, so I needed to filter the wine thru a fine sieve. All good though. I know Chateau Climens to be one of if not the best Barsac producer, so I've been saving this one for a lazy Saturday. Visually, I was surprised to see the golden color at this age, would've expected it to be much
