Success! After a brief struggle with ancient video codecs, I have recovered a cleaner copy of at least the broadcast TV edit of the Moviefone spot from my personal backups.

people are truly sleeping on the humble camcorder tbh. really compact stabilized power zoom with a ton of range and the ability to use actually decent video codecs plus ergonomics that are actually suitable for video... nobody else does it like the camcorder.

this is completely and utterly wrong. a close friend worked at twitch during the early days and showed me impromptu GPU farms for handling the codec load. Google has designed a custom ASIC just for youtube video codecs.
