#codemirror
why do people still choose literally anything other than monaco for web-based embedded text editors? everything else (CodeMirror, Ace) high-key sucks ass in comparison

ooooo -- can CodeMirror and Shiki update to this?

Tiptap, BlockNote, ProseMirror, and CodeMirror are supported at launch, and more may come later.

Each editor just needs a simple extension to add collaboration, like Tiptap below, and you can even render multiple documents in the same room.

Fantastic blog post from Stuart Clark about one of the first #Drupal contrib modules I remember using: Custom formatters. 🎉

Tl;dr The 4.1 version is bringing back some of its best features! 🚀✨
Custom Formatters 4.1.0 · stuar.tc
Nearly a decade after stepping away, 4.1.0 picks the module back up and brings back formatter settings, live preview, a CodeMirror editor, and Devel Generate support, with more to come.

yesterday I prototyped a UI for editing prose with a Claude Code session. you can edit the text directly, or you can highlight rendered markdown and click "de-LLM" (this actually works) or ask for something. it uses CodeMirror with Vim and Helix modes. now I'm experimenting with using Helix directly

It's not ready for the public yet, but I've also been playing around with code syntax highlighting and CodeMirror buttons for Snowman 2.X, which the attached screenshot shows.

The code is (currently) available in this branch (github.com/videlais/sno...).

Target is 2.1.6 and next Twine release.
