#commieblocks
Weil dann Sozialismus oder so.

Und was das alles kosten würde.

Und der Staat kann das ja auch gar nicht.

Und <irgendwas mit Commieblocks>.

Like ok, so do you mean the decaying commieblocks, the rebuilt imperial era apartments, West German era nightclubs, enormous Nazi concrete monstrosities, or...

or how all the SSRs pointedly kept the old commieblocks and they remain extremely strong residential properties on the market to this day afaik

[Norman Rockwell painting]

I think we need to force developers to build commieblocks at both the Central Park Pink Line station and the Kedzie-Homan Blue Line stations at gunpoint.

How many commieblocks can we build around this.
So it is a real possibility that we get two stadiums this close to each other? Sox is the black dot, Fire is the red one

Listen the people doing this to halt data centers and ICE warehouses are good!

We need to make it easier to build commieblocks and harder to build ICE warehouses and data centers.
The problem with picking zoning and permitting as the easiest way to stop projects is that you make it the easiest way for everyone to stop projects

It's trivial. Big commieblocks were built in times with much less car ownership and parking lots shortage is severe. There is always some idiot that claims a place just because "I've parked here for 40 years". Some also puncture tires, scratch car paint, break windshield wipers, etc.

Georgia has commieblocks, giant mountains, the most incomprehensible queer graffiti on every corner and amazing food

I spent my childhood in Moscow so my impression of what gives a place SOVL is quite slanted. I yearn for the verdant commieblocks. detached houses with razed lawns always induce a sense of being trapped in Minecraft superflat

hashtag failure to assimilate

The problem with these photos is not camera lens, it's shading on a particular block. It'll get better once I get to photos in a wider part of Leipziger Straße with setbacks from the street to the commieblocks.

really think we gotta spin up the state relocation funds at the same time we’re building 5km long commieblocks next to train stations and grocery stores

"commieblocks" doesn't properly describe what you're talking about beyond referencing mass public housing development, which is orthogonal to european vs US city planning philosophies, and consequently may or may not be walkable.

Commieblocks generally have the insulation on the outside of the structural concrete but underneath the cladding I believe. Meanwhile in Morelia it's quite typical to have no insulation at all (beyond that provided by the structure itself), no AC, and no heating.

We need commieblocks with public cafeterias on the ground floor.

Basically you're building commieblocks everywhere.

The People's Democratic Socialist Republic of Rogers Park has always been a very queer and trans neighborhood and yeah no doy a lot more queer and trans people internal refugees are moving in.

We should build more commieblocks and enact rent regulations so more refugees can move here.
