The overwhelming consensus among the people I encountered during my visit was that separatists are a small but loud minority, fuelled by the algorithm on one particular social media platform (along with a large helping of foreign interference) that is bending reality into something unrecognizable.
I just spent a week in my home province of Alberta, went to dinners, visited friends, attended a surprise birthday party. In my time here (which was mostly in Calgary and Edmonton), I didn’t meet anyone in favour of separation. I’m a proud Albertan and Canadian, excited people want to remain both. 🇨🇦

It's telling that some political pundit types consider a social media platform where there's a general consensus about human rights and other basic liberal concepts is obviously not as legitimate as the one gamed with a white supremacist algorithm and an omnipresent mad king owner.

I used to think it was a mass consensus model, but when you look at for example AI summaries of google search results it's only reflecting one or two sources (not always accurately). This is consensus only insofar as google's search result algorithm is able to pull a consensus result to the top. The
