I rant about this a lot, but regularly scheduled reminder that "I can't be held accountable because I'm autistic" is the EXACT SAME LOGIC that gets used to throw us into conservatorships and deny us autonomy so KNOCK IT OFF
Also, in particular, *fuck* Neil Gaiman for daring to use his autism as an excuse for abuse. Being autistic doesn't make you incapable of understanding the word "no", and nor does it make you sexually assault people.

This is why I hate broad strokes criticism of self diagnosis. There is a historical precedent of risk with formal diagnosis and registries, and what it can mean for immigration burdens, insurance coverage, conservatorships, parental rights, criminal justice, and well... extermination efforts...
