clazy – Qt-oriented static code analyser
clazy is a static code analyser designed specifically for C++ software developed with Qt. It is based on the Clang framework and understands many Qt-specific programming idioms and APIs. The analyser provides more than 50 checks covering areas such as unnecessary allocations, incorrect API usage, container handling, signal and slot problems, temporary objects and inefficient string operations. Checks are organised into levels, allowing developers to control how aggressive the analysis should be. clazy is primarily implemented as a Clang compiler plugin, but it is not restricted to plugin-only use. The project also provides clazy-standalone, which can analyse projects using a JSON compilation database. A number of checks offer fix-its that can automatically perform appropriate source-code changes. This is free and open source software. #### Key Features * Static analysis tailored specifically to Qt C++ code. * Built on the Clang compiler framework. * Provides more than 50 Qt-specific checks. * Detects inefficient use of Qt APIs. * Finds unnecessary memory allocations and temporary objects. * Checks signal, slot, container and iterator usage. * Groups checks into configurable analysis levels. * Supports individual enabling and disabling of checks. * Provides fix-its for automatic source-code refactoring. * Includes a standalone analyser for JSON compilation databases. * Can be integrated directly into normal compiler workflows. **Website:** **github.com/KDE/clazy** **Support:** **Developer:** KDE **License:** GNU Lesser General Public License v2.0 clazy is written in C++. AWS announced Lambda Web Functions, allowing developers to run standard Node.js HTTP servers with Express, Hono or Fastify without rewriting them as Lambda handlers.

This makes Lambda a more direct alternative to container-based hosting for HTTP APIs.

Practical takeaway: if a height-based @container rule stops matching after a class toggle, check the container’s container-type — inline-size removes block-axis queries.

Not just Proton: Getting to know Valve’s new SteamOS compatibility layers
For Griffais, the goal is for gamers to be able to consider Arm-based hardware without having to say, “Oh, this device is good, and the specs are good, the value is good, but I have to leave a portion of my catalog behind if I’m even considering it.” The droids you’re looking for? The second new compatibility layer hitting Steam is Lepton, an expansion of the pre-existing Waydroid project focused on getting standard Android APKs to run on SteamOS through a software container.

A chemical kept fishmeal from catching fire. Then scientists raised cancer concerns
This article is from Food for Feed, a series investigating the global fishmeal industry. It is produced by the Outlaw Ocean Project, a news organization based in Washington, D.C., and excerpted by Mongabay. On Jan. 8, 1966, a South African ship caught fire at sea. At port in Bristol, in the U.K., firefighters pried open the smoking container, and the conflagration spread and burned for five days. A little over a month later, on Feb. 11, a Liberian steamship caught fire near Rotterdam. The blaze spread and ignited a storage area with barrels of petrol, raging for several days, before melting the deck and mast, and eventually sinking the vessel. Then, on March 19 that same year, a Danish ship caught fire off Long Beach, California, injuring three firefighters and killing a longshoreman, and causing more than $1 million in estimated damages. These were far from isolated incidents. Fishmeal powder is known for spontaneously combusting as it decays and oxidizes. From the 1950s through the 1970s, fishmeal cargo ignited at least 90 fires on ships and in plants around the world, according to a review of historical news coverage by the Outlaw Ocean Project, a news organization based in Washington,...

🆕 AWS Network Firewall adds wildcard matching in container attribute filters for EKS and ECS, simplifying rule management with patterns like app=payments-* for all variants, reducing overhead and ensuring consistent security. Available globally.

#AWS #AwsNetworkFirewall
AWS Network Firewall adds wildcard support for container attribute filters
AWS Network Firewall now supports wildcard matching in container attribute-based inspection filters for Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) and Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS). This enhancement allows you to define attribute filters using wildcard patterns to match multiple container workloads in a single rule, eliminating the need to create individual container associations for each variant. With wildcard support, you can use patterns like app=payments-* to automatically cover all variants of an application, such as payments-api, payments-worker, and payments-cron. This simplifies firewall rule management for dynamic container environments where new application variants are frequently deployed, reducing operational overhead and ensuring consistent security coverage across your containerized workloads.  Wildcard support for container attribute filters is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Network Firewall container attribute-based inspection is supported. For a full list of supported Regions, see the AWS Region Table. To get started, visit AWS Network Firewall product page and service documentation.
