Mictis longicornis, belonging to order Hemiptera and family Coreidae/leaf footed bug

As most of Coreidae, males use their enlarged and spiked hindlegs to fight over territory issues, they're kinda tough for their size

Leaf-footed bug nymph (Hemiptera: Coreidae: Leptoglossus sp.) on a wild cucumber (Cucurbitaceae: Echinocystis lobata). Although I didn’t observe it feeding, these insects do feed on plant juices and many species are economically important crop pests. Blissfield Michigan, 09/30/2012.

Leg day every day.

This fantastic Coreidae has been lifting some serious weight with its back legs.

I don't know the species name, if anyone has knowledge, I'll be very grateful.

Coreidae (leaf-footed bugs) are one of those #Hemiptera that have truly gorgeous eggs. I often find that hemipteran eggs come in such vibrant colors and interesting textures. I'm surprised there isn't already a coffee table book dedicated just to hemipteran eggs.

The beautiful Gonocerus juniperi, seen last week in the Ardennes in France. When I initially tapped it from the conifer, it was coupled with a Box Bug (Gonocerus acuteangulatus), but they quickly separated! #Coreidae #Ardennes #France

We have hatchlings! 8 tiny baby Box Bugs (Gonocerus acuteangulatus) have hatched out of their little golden eggs on our Rosa rugosa and are now hanging around looking cute! One egg is still to hatch, they change to a reddish bronze just before hatching. #Heteroptera #Coreidae #bugsky
